FE Exam is Fundamentals of Engineering Exam, also called EIT for Engineer in Training.

The FE exam is the first step in the process leading to the P.E. license.
It is offered twice a year, April and October.

Registration for October 2012 will begin on June 15th.
The test is 8 hours, 180 multiple choice questions given over two (4 hr) sessions:
Morning 120 questions – General (all topics)
Afternoon 60 questions – Discipline Specific
You are allowed only to bring a Calculator (no pencil or paper)
Casio: FX-115
HP: 33s, 35s
TI: TI-30x, TI-36x (including any options like 36x-s)
You will be given a pencil and the FE reference book on site.
It is recommended that you download the PDF of it to practice with.

Also, go to your state’s professional regulation site.
You will need a copy of your transcripts.
Everyone takes THE SAME morning session. This covers general topics.
The Afternoon session is discipline specific.
